We’re at the final few weeks of the year so maybe now is the time you’re feeling that sense of urgency to get going on your goals. But during the busy holiday time, how do you find the time?
First of all, make it a priority. If it’s on your calendar and it’s a non negotiable, you WILL find the time!
We’re all busy but there are definitely pockets of time throughout our day that can be used for what’s important to us. If you start to be an observer and track how you spend your time, you’ll start to notice where the time goes.
Here are some suggestions if you’re looking to dedicate even just 30 minutes a day to your goals…
- Wake up 30 minutes earlier
- Go to sleep 30 minutes later
- Spend less time in the bathroom! Shorter showers and don’t bring in your phone, books or magazines. Do what ya gotta do and get out!
- Scrolling on social media – set your timer so you don’t fall down that rabbit hole
- Less TV! Your intention was to watch one episode but somehow it turns into an all night bingefest. Watch a 30 minute show of something you’ve already seen instead of starting or continuing a new series.
- Meal plan – this really helped me! I’d spend so much time each night trying to figure out what to make even before I got to the cooking part. On the weeks that I plan and know ahead of time, it not only saves time, but hearing “mom, what’s for dinner” is no longer a trigger!
- Ask for help – this could be with dinner or anything else. You don’t have to do it all on your own.
- Commuting to a job? What can you get done on the train or bus on your ride to and from your job?
