This Halloween will most likely be different than ones in the past but it doesn’t mean it has to be bad, boring and uneventful. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays so there’s no way I’m letting it just slip away this year – and neither should you!
Rather than focusing on what you can’t do, how about flipping it and being creative to see what you still can do!
Get Crafty
My girls and I got crafty and did some #mindfulmaking with DIY Halloween decorations. We made paper bats, ghosts from yarn, a giant spider web with paper spiders and painted & glittered an unfinished wooden bat sign that I got from Joann’s Fabric Store.
I also did some Halloween inspired drawings which was also fun! Lots of creativity this month!
Make Halloween Treats
My younger daughter is planning on making some black and white cookies tomorrow along with some other festive treats. When she was younger she had a cute monster themed birthday party. We made really cute monster marshmallow pops. You can see what we did in a post from years back on my old blog. I still keep it to reference back to!
Easy Decorations
I remembered I had some cool photographs that would be great for easy Halloween Decorations. There’s a spiderweb that I shot at a local park – really intricate design along with a pumpkin I was fascinated with because of the colors and the elaborate stem.
These are now DIGITAL DOWNLOADS in my Etsy shop so you can grab them and use them for your own Halloween decorations!
Print them, frame them, use on social media – get creative!!! Tag me on Instagram at @staceynatal so I can see what you did!
Movie Night!
When I was younger I loved horror movies but ever since I’ve been working on my mindset, positivity and personal development I have to say I can’t watch them anymore. They’re just not an energetic match for me! Here are some family-friendly – yet still enjoyable Halloween movies to consider. My girls have been watching a few this week. Even though they’re teens and love the horror, they still go back to these as well.
- Monster House
- Mad Monster Party
- Frankenweenie
- Paranorman
- Young Frankenstein
- and of course the classic – It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!
Document It!
No matter what you decide to do, make sure to document your Halloween in words and pictures by taking photos and journaling!! This will most likely be a Halloween unlike others but it will still be worth remembering down the road. It’s part of history – YOUR personal history!
- What’s different about this Halloween?
- What’s the same?
- What can I do to make this Halloween more memorable?
Let me know what you’ll be doing this Halloween. I’d love to know!
