Continuing to read The Compound Effect! In Chapter 2 a few of the key takeaways are..
- The power of gratitude
- Taking FULL responsibility for EVERYTHING in your life
- Tracking the behaviors you’d like to improve
These are all powerful topics! I talk a lot about using journaling to foster an attitude of gratitude and we also cover that in my course Journal With Intention. It’s all about taking control of where you put your focus.
Taking FULL responsibility is another great concept because that way you’re taking your power back. By putting the blame on other people, outside circumstances and anything else externally, that’s how you give your personal power away and you’re relying on other things to help change your life. When you start to take full responsibility, THAT’S how you start to take control of your life and make any necessary positive changes.
Tracking!!! If there’s an area in your life that you want to improve, look at your behaviors related to that area. In my own life there’s definitely room for improvement in a lot of areas! 🙂
For the sake of keeping it simple and not being overwhelmed, I’m starting to track one area – my business. If you ask my girls they’ll say I’m on my computer ALL TEH TIME and some days I also feel that way. I always feel busy yet not productive. What am I actually doing all day?!? What am I getting done to make progress on my business goals?
I’m tracking and being more mindful of how and where I spend my time. Facebook, email, consuming content – one link leads to another and soon I’m down that rabbit hole! Can you relate?
Tracking is allowing me to be more aware and mindful of how I’m spending my time so I can focus on the important tasks first.
II went live on Instagram and Facebook to discuss chapter 2. You can watch here…
Now I turn it over to you – let’s journal on it!
