Are you prioritizing your creativity?⠀
⠀
I’m being more intentional this month about my habits and while I say that creativity is really important to me, I saw that I wasn’t making it a priority. It always came AFTER.⠀
⠀
After the social media posts⠀
After the blog posts⠀
After the email⠀
After cooking dinner⠀
⠀
and the list went on and on!⠀
⠀
Now I’ve been making it a priority to do my creative “play” in the morning along with the rest of my morning routine (journaling, yoga, reading, etc) and it’s been great! ⠀
⠀
Recently I made a bunch of bats for Halloween decorations and the extra black paper was still laying around. I got inspired to start drawing on the black paper with my colored pencils and it’s been so creatively fulfilling.
⠀⠀
I started with a garden design…
then a couple of Halloween drawings.
It was challenging to find the right shades that would show up on black paper. I really love the feel of pencil on paper. These colored pencils are so smooth and great to draw with!
Drawing patterns is very relaxing and calming. When you’re in this calm, focused state, it clears your head similar to what journaling does and leaves you more open to receiving new ideas for your business or other areas of your life.
Here’s a glimpse of my drawing in action!! 🙂
An idea that came to me this morning was to see if anyone would be interested in doing a Morning Mindful Drawing session together. It could be via zoom for an hour and I could lead the group on drawing patterns together. Just an idea – nothing fully fleshed out yet.
Let me know if there would be any interest!
