Tuesday evening I hosted a Vision Board Workshop at the KRVC office here in Riverdale. I want to express how thankful I am to everyone that came out in the cold and to KRVC for providing a welcoming space and handling all of the back end stuff that’s involved with putting on an event.⠀
We not only had locals but people made the trek from Long Island, The Village and Brooklyn! I was really blown away! I so appreciate how everyone made a commitment to themselves and decided to spend their valuable time with me and a group of strangers in support of their dreams.⠀Sometimes that first step is the hardest. Of course it’s a lot easier to stay in your warm home, all comfy on your couch but you’ve got to learn to stretch a bit – do things that are uncomfortable if you want to grow. Sitting on your couch most likely won’t do that for you unless it’s a bigger butt you’re looking to grow!!
I loved seeing everyone express their desires, connect with others in the room and allow themselves to be really present and in the moment.⠀I didn’t see anyone glued to their phones – instead there were real conversations happening and they were engrossed in creating their boards.
I can’t wait to see what amazing things everyone will manifest this year!!
Tips For Creating Your Vision Board
Vision boards in my opinion should have a feel good / inspirational aspect to them. It could be about a bunch of different goals, one board for each goal or each bucket in your life. For example a board for Career, Relationships, Experiences, Wellness or have a bit of each category on one board. You may want to do a board that’s completely inspirational using words, colors and patterns and not anything specific. Basically whatever works for you.
Some people resonate more with pictures, others with words and phrases and some a combo of both.
Things to think about when creating your boards:
What do you want to BE?
What do you want to DO?
What do you want to HAVE?
and most importantly…
How do you want to FEEL?
Put your board in a place where you can see it every day. It should light you up!!
What’s great is that everyone’s board will look different and you can really see a personality shine through. Some are colorful, others have more calm colors, others neat and orderly and others random and collage-like.
There are no set rules. It should be FUN to create, not forced.
Do you create vision boards? If so post a picture in the comments below. I’d love to see it!
