My husband and I decided to take a break from all of the indoor time we’ve been having this holiday break to head over to Untermyer Garden for some creative inspiration. I wanted to continue with my Finding Beauty in the Dead of Winter project and he wanted to paint some trees. My daughters on the other hand were very happy to stay home in pj’s.
Untermyer Gardens is located in Yonkers, NY with great views of the Hudson River. We’ve been there many times before but again in warmer seasons where there is plenty of lush, beautiful garden landscapes.
As mentioned in a previous post, it was definitely a challenge to find beauty here in the Winter. It was hidden – not so obvious to the naked eye. I really had to look but I’m happy with what I captured. As always I added editing to make it my own.
These next few I edited in a way that reminds me of indigo dying or sun prints (which are both really fun to do). I think the high contrast worked for this editing style.
This next one is my favorite …
