Are you up for a creative challenge?
How often do we put our creative activities off to the side because we have “more important” things to do?
- Sending emails and posting on social media for our business.
- Figuring out what’s for dinner and then having to cook that dinner!
- The list goes on and on!
I’ve had enough and realized I needed to do something to keep myself accountable to create each day. Creating is something I love to do, yet don’t always give myself permission to do. Because why? It would be too much fun and shouldn’t I be doing the less fun things first?!? It’s INSANE!!
I’m going to practice what I preach – follow the JOY!
As of writing this post I’m already 8 days in and having so much fun!
Here’s what I’ve created so far…
Probably one of my faves so far – love tulips! This one is now available on merch in my Society6 shop
Before throwing away my dried up Mother’s Day flowers, I wanted to see what I could create with what was left. After many different arrangements and iterations, these are the 3 final ones I ended up with…
These are called Onion Flowers. I’m trying to get better at knowing the names and meanings of the flowers I photograph! They reminded me of those wispy wish flowers but more dense. 🙂 I love how perfectly round they are!
The few official photography classes I took in college and after were all black and white film and darkroom. I learned so much! It was so exciting to see my images come to life directly on the paper.
I love bxw photography but not necessarily for floral and nature images. I decided to experiment with this one though. That’s the beauty of a challenge – it’s a great time to try things out!
It’s not too late to join in! No prompts, no rules as long as there’s some interpretation of florals. Use any medium of your choice and challenge yourself to try something new!
Take some risks with your art and creativity! It’s easy to fall into a rut. Try forcing yourself to change things up a bit. You never know what you’ll come up with!
If you want to participate use the hashtag #40DaysOfFloralArt and post on Instagram and/or Facebook. I do both.
There’s already a couple of people posting. Love seeing the creativity! Can’t wait to see what you create!
