Feel like you need a getaway to get those creative juices flowing? I know most of us are home and haven’t been traveling but I want to remind you there’s so much you can explore right in your own neighborhood!⠀
⠀
It’s about really paying attention and seeing!⠀
⠀
This week I decided to go on a photo walk in my neighborhood. I had an urge to create new photographs. I’m especially inspired by Fall. It’s my favorite season! My intention was to pay attention to what was going on around me instead of unconsciously walking around.⠀
⠀
The Fall foliage is starting to make an appearance and it looks amazing! It felt so good to be out and about with my camera!⠀I used both my “real” camera – (my DSLR) along with a few shots here and there with the camera on my phone.
I found the design of this garage door to be so interesting. The variety of colors, textures and details I discovered on my photo walk are fostering new ideas for me to try in painting and drawing.
Don’t wait for the pandemic to end to start being creative. Do it now! Get out locally and explore – but of course be safe. You’ll be amazed at what you can discover! ⠀
Tips for a great photo walk:
- Pay attention! Don’t talk on the phone or listen to an audio. Be present!
- Look up, down and all around – there’s so much happening all over – not just right in front of you at eye level.
- Make sure your lens is clean whether it’s your DSLR camera or the one on your phone.
- It’s so much easier to just use a phone but if you have a DSLR it’s a great time to practice – you can use both!
Do you get to experience the change of seasons where you live? I’d love to see what it looks like! Comment below or post on Instagram and tag me @staceynatal so I could see!
Great news! If you love Fall as much as I do and want to experience it year round, I made a few of these images available as prints in my Etsy Shop!
If there’s one you love that I didn’t include let me know and I’ll add it in!
